§ 2-91. Position established.

  • There is hereby created and established the position of city administrator. The city administrator shall be appointed by the mayor by and with the consent of the city council and shall be the administrative head of the city under direction of the mayor and city council. The city administrator shall be appointed on the basis of qualification and ability to carry out the stated functions of the position and need not be a resident of the city. The city administrator shall be appointed by the mayor and city council for an indefinite term, unless an employment agreement with a stated term in writing is negotiated and executed. Upon recommendation of the mayor and two councilmembers, the city administrator may be removed following a review by majority vote of the city council.
