§ 53-65. Illuminated sign specifications.

  • (a)

    Illumination limited. Bare neon tube lighting may be utilized in an open channel design to be included in the calculations for allowable sign area.

    (b)

    Construction. All permanent signs shall comply with all appropriate design and construction specifications set forth in the latest edition of the UBC Uniform Sign Code adopted by this reference by the city. In addition, all permanent illuminated facade signs shall comply with the requirements of the city's electrical code. Signs shall be constructed and installed so that electrical supply, general wiring, support brackets and fasteners are not visible.
